Hello and thank you so much for visiting my page!
I qualified as an Operating Department Practitioner in 2012, and worked in hospital theatres from then until 2025, working in Recovery.. quite a change from art! However, art has always run alongside my life, and I have always drawn and painted. In 2019 I started taking on pet portrait commissions, and business has grown from there. I was privileged to have a full book of commissions to do and created many pet portrait drawings in coloured pencil for clients.
Through pencil work, I began creating my own original work of wildlife and farm animals, which led to having my first solo exhibition in 2023. During this period I also started taking my work to other art fairs.
In 2024 I started experimenting more with painting using acrylic paints and oils, before eventually cementing my artistic style creating oil paintings inspired by my surroundings in North Yorkshire; especially moorland views and beautiful skies. In 2026 I made the leap from working part-time as an artist, to full time!
Now, my work is very focussed on my original work and prints. I aim to create beautiful paintings inspired by country living - rural views and the motifs that connect to them. You'll find big skies, beautiful moorlands and the drystone walls, fencing and stone barns that epitomise Yorkshire. I want my work to bring a sense of peace and calmness to your walls - I get so much joy from being surrounded by nature, and that's the feeling I want to infuse into my work.
I'm so lucky to live on my family's farm, and when I'm not painting am usually found on there! We breed Dales ponies and my sister runs a commercial flock of sheep. More info about the farm can be found at our Facebook page
